AcuCT Flex (Rogowski Coil) Warnings

Warning: Disconnect the power supply before making electrical connections.

Warning: Rogowski Coil (RCT) should be installed by a trained electrician or technician.

Installation Steps for AcuCT Flex (RCT)
  1. Open the coil by pressing inward on the black connector and pull the connector apart.
  2. Install the RCT around the conductor to be measured. Verify the RCT is installed with the arrow on the black connector facing the same direction as the current flow.
  3. Re-attach the coil connector together.
  4. Connect leads to the RCT terminals on the meter, as detailed in the wiring diagram of the meter’s datasheet. The white lead of the CT is positive, and the brown lead is negative. The shield wire on the Rogowski coil should be left floating and should not be grounded.
  5. Repeat Steps 1 through 4 if using more than one RCT.
  6. Ensure that the RCT connected to the meter is around the correct phase/line voltage.

Caution:

The RCT can be installed on a bare busbar up to 600V CAT IV. If busbar comes with proper insulation, the RCT can be installed and measure in high-voltage systems. This equipment is intended to be used as a current transformer (RCT).

If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection provided by the equipment may be impaired.

Important: The secondary winding shall be properly isolated when the primary side of the equipment is installed on a live system.

No cleaning is required.

Environmental:

The CT is rated for indoor use only. The altitude is up to 2000 meters. Ambient temperature range is -20°C to 70°C. Maximum relative humidity is 95% non-condensing. Installation condition: IP61.

Functional Check: When necessary, open the secondary output lead and measure millivolt AC from the secondary lead. The output should be full range according to rating, when the primary side is rated current.

Electrical Rating:

Voltage Rating: 1000V CAT III, 600V CAT IV 50-60Hz.

Current Rating: 5A-5000A, depending on the model of the RCT.
