AcuDC-261 MID Overview

How to Select the Right EV Charging Meter?

Selecting the right EV charging meter requires confirming compliance with revenue-grade regulatory frameworks such as the European Union’s Measuring Instruments Directive and alignment with accuracy classifications like IEC 62053-41 Class 0.5 and EN 50470-4 Class C. Assess the meter’s accuracy performance, applicable voltage and current ranges, data integrity and logging capabilities, and its ability to support transparent, auditable billing in modern EV charging systems.

IEC 62053-41 Class 0.5 & EN 50470-4 Class C

Compliance with IEC 62053-41 Class 0.5 and EN 50470-4 Class C confirms that an EV charging meter delivers the accuracy, stability, and performance required for precise measurement. These standards specify how a meter must function under different load profiles and environmental conditions to maintain consistent, traceable readings. Meeting these classifications confirms revenue-grade accuracy across voltage, current, power, and energy measurements, supporting reliable billing, transparent auditing, and regulatory validation for utilities and EV charging systems.

Delivers revenue-grade accuracy with dual connectors for EV fast charging applications, providing direct-connected voltage measurement at 0.1% accuracy from 60-1000V, two isolated DC current inputs measured via shunt sensors at 0.2% accuracy, and 0.5% accuracy across all power, energy, and charge calculations, offering the precision required for DC fast charging systems.

MID certification feature of the AcuDC-261 MID

MID CERTIFICATION

MID certified EV charging meter that complies with international regulatory requirements for accuracy, performance, and safety in accordance with IEC 62053-41 Class 0.5 and EN 50470-4 Class C standards. The series also meets CTEP, NTEP, Eichrecht, LNE, and UL Recognized requirements, supporting reliable revenue-grade performance across global DC billing applications.

OCMF data format feature of the AcuDC-261 MID

OCMF DATA FORMAT

Supports OCMF (Open Charge Metering Format) with transaction logging, a standardized, tamper-evident data format used in billing systems to transmit metering data for regulatory verification. By generating OCMF compliant records, the meter provides transparent, interoperable, and auditable data exchange between billing systems.

Cable loss compensation feature of the AcuDC-261 MID

CABLE LOSS COMPENSATION

Provides current and voltage cable loss compensation to maintain accurate billing in EV fast charging systems. Long cable runs, conductor size, and material differences introduce resistance that causes voltage drop and power loss between the charger and the vehicle. By compensating for these distribution losses, the meter ensures that billing reflects the actual energy delivered to the EV, supporting revenue-grade, transparent EV charging billing.

Anti-tamper seal feature of the AcuDC-261 MID

ANTI-TAMPER SEAL

AcuDC-261 MID meter provides unauthorized tamper protection through both electronic and physical metrology seals. Locked parameter settings protect calibration and billing configurations from unauthorized modification, and when paired with a sealed shunt, the meter forms a fully enclosed, tamper-proof measurement chain, maintaining data integrity for revenue-grade EV charging applications.

How to configure cable loss compensation?

Cable loss compensation can be configured through the meter’s setup menu or Modbus registers. Users can enable the feature and then enter the cable length, the cable resistance per unit length, and the positive or negative compensation direction, depending on the installation. This function corrects voltage drop across long DC cables to improve measurement accuracy at the point of load.

Where do I view the energy (kWh) consumption on the meter?

Energy readings such as Wh, kWh, and Ah can be viewed directly on the meter’s front display within the Energy or Measurement pages, and the same values are available through Modbus registers for remote monitoring.
