Immersion Temperature Sensor Installation for HVAC Systems

The AcuTEMS IM immersion temperature sensor is designed for accurate liquid temperature measurement in HVAC hydronic systems such as chilled-water lines, boiler piping, and other low-flow, low-pressure applications. Reliable temperature input from these systems supports effective heating and cooling loop control, helping maintain stable HVAC operation, consistent indoor conditions, and occupant comfort.

Designed for easy installation and field integration, the AcuTEMS IM simplifies mounting, and wiring helping reduce installation effort while providing accurate temperature measurement for effective HVAC and BAS control.

Simplified Installation and Field Integration

The AcuTEMS IM is built to simplify installation across a range of hydronic HVAC applications. It is available in multiple probe lengths with industry-standard RTD, thermistor, and transmitter output options, making it easier to select a model that matches system and control requirements.

Its mechanical design also helps streamline field installation. A 304 stainless steel thermowell with a ½-inch NPT connection and set screw allows the probe to be mounted securely, while pre-applied thermal paste improves thermal contact between the probe and thermowell without requiring extra preparation during installation.

Wiring is also made easier. Three-wire terminals support both two-wire and three-wire resistance temperature outputs, while quick-release self-capturing cover screws and push-button terminal blocks enable faster access and simpler connections. A standardized IP65 enclosure also helps protect the sensor against dust and moisture in HVAC environments.
