Accuenergy Expands CT Portfolio with the AcuCT A Series Featuring IEC 61869-2 Class 0.5S Accuracy
Toronto, ON – May 5, 2026 – Accuenergy today launched the AcuCT A Series Revenue-Grade Split-Core Current Transformers, reinforcing its commitment to accurate and reliable energy monitoring solutions. The AcuCT A elevates Accuenergy’s transformer lineup by delivering IEC61869-2 Class 0.5S accuracy for metering and billing verification applications.
AcuCT A is purpose-built for commercial billing and submetering applications, LEED and sustainable building programs, and demand controlled HVAC systems. Organizations are seeking greater visibility into their energy usage while meeting evolving metering standards. With the U.S. Department of Energy placing a strong emphasis on transformer energy efficiency standards, recognizing the potential to deliver hundreds of millions of dollars in cost savings while the demand for reliable, high-accuracy current transformers continues to grow. The AcuCT A Series addresses this demand by meeting IEC 61869-2 Class 0.5S compliance, ensuring accurate measurement from 1% to 120% of rated current, maintaining tight accuracy limits at low currents under nominal and overload operating conditions.
Accuenergy AcuCT A Series comprises six new current transformer models covering a wide range of form factors - AcuCT-050A, AcuCT-075A, AcuCT-142, AcuCT-200A, AcuCT-3337A and AcuCT-4153A. Each supports several primary current ratings to accommodate diverse application requirements. Multiple secondary output options are also available for every model, including both current and voltage outputs. The series maintains revenue-grade performance across 1% to 120% of rated current while operating over a frequency range of 50 Hz to 400 Hz for select models.
The press-open split-core design enables fast, non-intrusive installation, while a rugged UL 94V-0 flame-retardant enclosure supports long-term reliability in demanding environments. Optional zinc-plated mounting brackets firmly secure the CT onto panels, busbars, or cables, while countering corrosion effects. Collectively, these design features make the AcuCT A Series the right choice for new and retrofit building projects that require revenue-grade energy measurement, power monitoring, and billing verification applications.
