Accuenergy Launches AcuCO2TM DM Series CO2 Sensors for Building Automation Systems
Toronto, ON - April 30, 2026 - Accuenergy Inc. announces the launch of the AcuCO2TM DM Series expanding its existing BAS sensors. The new carbon dioxide sensors are designed to monitor CO2 levels within the ductwork of an HVAC system, supporting improved ventilation control, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), and energy efficiency in modern Building Automation Systems (BAS).
With increasing emphasis on indoor air quality, CO2 sensors are important in monitoring ventilation in commercial buildings. Research indicates that people spend nearly 90% of their time indoors, where concentrated air pollutants are higher than outdoor levels. Surveys indicate that fewer than 6% of the U.S. commercial buildings currently use Demand Controlled Ventilation (DCV), suggesting that most facilities do not adjust ventilation based on occupancy. The AcuCO2 DM Series are carbon dioxide sensors used to provide an accurate CO2 level sensing within ducts. This enables ventilation systems to introduce fresh air into the room based on actual occupancy level and minimizing energy consumption when the space is unoccupied, reducing operating costs and improving the well-being of the occupants and system efficiency.
Designed for Demand Controlled Ventilation (DCV) applications, the AcuCO2 DM Series transmits analog signals proportional to the measured CO2 levels to the BAS controller. This helps the BAS controller to regulate the fresh air intake and exhaust, optimizing the performance of the ventilation system and helps extend the life of the HVAC system.
The AcuCO2 DM Series features Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) technology and Automatic Baseline Correction (ABC Logic) to ensure stable and maintenance free operation for over 15 years. It operates at 21.6 to 26.4 VAC or VDC and offers dual analog output options of 4 – 20mA and 0 – 10VDC. The sensor delivers a high accuracy of ± 30ppm and ±3% from 400 to 2500 ppm, and ± 40ppm and ±3% from 2500 to 5000 ppm. Three model variants are available with operating range from 0 to 2000 PPM, 0 to 2500 PPM, and 0 to 5000 PPM which can be used as per application.
Designed for fast and easy duct installation, the AcuCO2 DM Series features a four-screw mounting flange with an adjustable probe length. Push-button, spring clamp terminals allows secure wiring and reduces the installation time. For durability, the carbon dioxide sensor features an IP65 protection, and a fire retardant UL94V-0 polycarbonate enclosure. The AcuCO2 DM Series is CE and RoHS approved, along with the AcuCO2-DM-02 model meets Addendum ab to ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2022 for the 0 to 2500 PPM range for compliance.
