Energy Analysis for Evaluating Building Energy Efficiency Across Facilities
Analyzing energy consumption across building systems is essential for identifying performance trends, comparing operational conditions, and supporting data-driven decision-making. As energy data becomes increasingly granular across facilities, structured analysis tools are required to interpret patterns, evaluate demand, and assess system performance over time.
AcuCloud, a SaaS energy management software, provides a centralized platform for analyzing energy performance across building portfolios. By performing analysis across facilities and meter points, users can assess energy consumption, demand behaviour, and overall system performance with greater precision.
Selecting Facilities and Meter Points
Energy analysis in AcuCloud begins with defining the analysis scope. Users can choose the facility to evaluate and select the relevant meter points for analysis.
Users can analyze individual meter points, compare multiple meters, or assess total facility consumption. Meter points across multiple facilities can also be selected, enabling direct comparison of load profiles between sites and supporting performance evaluation across building portfolios.
Configuring Analysis Types and Parameters
Once meter points are defined, users can select the type of analysis required. AcuCloud supports multiple analysis options, including energy, heatmap, demand, real-time, and schedule-based analysis, allowing users to evaluate system performance from different operational perspectives.
For energy analysis, users can define a primary timeframe and optionally include a secondary timeframe for comparison. Parameters can be configured to evaluate active and reactive energy across import, export, net, and total values, as well as apparent energy at both system and phase levels.
Time intervals can be configured down to a 5-minute resolution, providing detailed visibility into load variation. Temperature data can also be enabled, allowing users to correlate environmental conditions with energy consumption patterns.
Visualizing and Customizing Analysis Results
After configuring the analysis, results can be viewed through bar or line chart visualizations. The Y-axis can be adjusted to refine measurement scaling, while the X-axis can be modified to focus on specific time ranges.
In addition to chart visualization, selected meter points can be compared side by side in a tabular format. Key metrics, including the highest reading, lowest reading, average (mean), and total energy consumption, are calculated to support direct comparison.
Annotations can also be added to charts to document events, operational changes, or anomalies within selected time periods, providing context for interpreting data and supporting more accurate analysis of system behaviour.
Reviewing and Exporting Energy Data
Users can review detailed energy data in timestamp format for selected intervals, enabling precise inspection of meter readings. Data can be exported in CSV format to support further analysis, reporting, or integration with external systems.
Chart visualizations can also be downloaded in PNG format, enabling users to share insights and support internal reporting or stakeholder communication.
